    "IHG released a Q1 trading update showing a slowdown in RevPAR growth to +1.5%. While this is partially due to the distortion of Easter timing and so should reverse in Q2, several markets are also subdued by weak oil markets (management says). More rooms were removed (8k) than added (5k) which needs further explanation but the company reported solid growth in net system size + 2.7% (742k rooms) and pipeline continues to build with 15K rooms signed bringing the pipeline to 220k with 45% under construction.     "The weak oil market weighed on the strong US market, deceleration in RevPAR growth in its Q1-16 results, IHG posted a low 1.5% rise in RevPAR at CER (vs +5.9% in Q1-15) in part attributable to the negative impact of weak oil markets and the earlier timing of Easter (in the Americas and Europe notably) in several IHG markets. Prices were up by 1% while occupancy rose modestly (+0.3%).
