    What does the company do?
    Alien Metals Ltd (LON:UFO) is a mining project generator, which plans to create value for shareholders by identifying and acquiring assets in the base and precious metals space and then adding value and selling them on or joint venturing them out.

    What does the company own?
    The portfolio includes significant legacy assets from the company’s former life, in the days when it was known as Arian Silver. The assets in Mexico have significant potential, high grade, and are located in well-known mining districts adjacent to some major names in silver mining.

    The company also has an interest in iron ore projects in Australia, which look highly prospective for DSO.

    Mining industry professionals will know that DSO can be at a premium in the iron ore space, especially for juniors, since it means rock can be mined and shipped directly without any processing, thus saving on potentially huge investment in processing plant and equipment.

    Grades taken in sampling as part of an ongoing due diligence process at Alien’s Brockman and Hancock Ranges projects have returned higher than 60% in several cases, and higher than 65% in one case.

    It’s all the more significant because of the location of these projects in Australia, right in the heart of a prolific mining district, and not too far away from the famous mining export hub of Port Hedland.

    In December, Alien Metals agreed to acquire the former producing silver mine, Elizabeth Hill.

    One of the very few native silver mines in Australia, Elizabeth Hill is in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

    How's it doing?

    In April 2020 the company released the results of an IP survey completed at Donovan 2 in Mexico, which identified two promient targets. The plan is to undertake a drill programme as soon as feasible. At the same time broker First Equity noted that the company is operating in areas that are still relatively clear of coronavirus.

    In May, the company raised £275,000 of new capital so that it can expedite exploration work across projects in Mexico and Australia.

    The money will also allow the company to examine strategic opportunities that are being presented to the company in the current market, it added.

    The company plans to use the funds to conduct initial scout drilling at the Los Campos project area and sampling at the San Celso silver project.

    It will also complete the Elizabeth Hill acquisition, commission data interpretation from the Donovan 2 copper-gold project and finalise planning for fieldwork for iron ore projects in Australia.

    In July the company announced further sampling work at its Mexican silver properties.

    "We believe that with careful budgeting, we can deliver high-impact exploration programs across our existing and proposed licences as soon as safe fieldwork becomes possible both in Mexico and Australia,” Bill Brodie Good, Alien Metals technical director said in a statement.

    “This placing will also allow us to actively review strategic opportunities that present themselves during the current environment," he added.

    What the market says
    Pilbara-based silver mine Elizabeth Hill is an exciting addition to an expanding portfolio of mining interests says research house First Equity.

    The formerly-producing mine complements the group’s Mexican silver assets and follows the recent addition of Western Australia iron-ore projects at Hancock Range and Brockman.

    Due diligence work is currently underway at Elizabeth Hill, which will involve analysis of drilling data collected by current owner Karratha Metals.

    “Elizabeth Hill was previously in production between 1998 and 2000, with production of 1,170,000 ounces of silver, with a high head grade averaging 70 oz/t.

    “It was mined during a period when silver prices were in a 10-year slump, trading in the region of US$4.5 to US$6.6 p/oz, compared to today’s much-improved price environment of US$16.7 p/oz.”

    Exploration upside potential exists at depths below the known mineralisation and outside of the mine area to the east and west of Elizabeth Hill., says the research group.

    The mine was noted for its high-grade nugget finds, including one of the largest silver nuggets ever found in Australia.

    That giant weighed 180kg and was discovered in 2000.

    Elizabeth Hill is also situated in an established mining district with full infrastructure and a port 25km away.

    If completed, the acquisition will represent Alien Metal’s most advanced project says First Equity, which has a ‘buy’ recommendation on the shares.

    Earn-in Agreement on Donovan 2 Copper Gold Project Executed between Capstone Mining Corp and Alien Metals


    Alien Metals Ltd (Alien Metals or the Company), a minerals exploration and development company, is pleased to announce that it has executed an Earn-in Agreement ("Agreement") with Capstone Mining Corp (Capstone) (TSX: CS) over its Donovan 2 Copper-Gold project (the "Project") in Mexico (Transaction). Pursuant to the Agreement, Capstone has the ability to acquire up to an 80% interest in Donovan 2 by sole funding the Project up to completion of a Prefeasibility Study.


    Highlights:

    - Capstone can earn an initial 65% interest in Donovan 2 through a combination of cash payments and committed expenditure, consisting of:

    o US$290,000 in cash payments to Alien over three years; and

    o US$3,600,000 in valid exploration expenditure over three years (including US$150,000 being incurred by 31 December 2020)

    - Capstone can increase their interest from 65% to 75% by making a further cash payment of US$200,000 and funding the costs associated with a Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA)

    - Following delivery of the PEA, in the event Alien elects not to contribute pro-rata to its 25% interest, Capstone Mining has the ability to sole-fund the costs of a Prefeasibility Study (PFS) to earn an additional 5% in Donovan 2 (bringing their holding to 80% and Alien 20%)

    - Thereafter, each party will fund their pro-rata interest in the Project or dilute according to industry standard mechanisms. In the event Alien dilutes to below 5%, it's interest will convert to a 2% Royalty

    - The Transaction with Capstone delivers the potential for immediate advancement of the Donovan 2 Copper-Gold project while allowing Alien to focus exploration activities across its project portfolio


    Further to the RNS dated 9 September 2020, Alien and Capstone had entered into an Exclusivity Agreement whereby Capstone, a mid-tier North American mining company, secured a 45-day period to undertake due diligence to their satisfaction with the aim of the parties executing a joint venture agreement for Capstone to acquire an interest in Donovan 2.

    M&A update on Mexico Silver Projects and award of new licence adjacent to world class Citronen Zinc-Lead deposit, Greenland

    Alien Metals Ltd (LSE AIM:UFO) (Alien Metals or the Company), a minerals exploration and development company, is pleased to advise that it has been successfully granted a 208 km2 exploration licence in northern Greenland, surrounding the world class Citronen zinc-lead project owned by Ironbark Zinc Limited (ASX:IBG) (Ironbark), Licence number 2020-44.


    The Citronen project is believed to be one of the world's largest undeveloped zinc-lead projects, with a JORC resource of 131.1 million tonnes @ 4.5% Zn + Pb (for 13 billion pounds of contained zinc and lead metal) (Ironbark ASX Announcement 12th March 2020). The awarding of the licence to Alien, which is valid until 31 December 2023, continues with the Company's strategy of identifying counter-cyclical opportunities in first class mining jurisdictions with excellent upside potential. The licence covers prospective ground on strike east and west of the Citronen project area and previously held by Ironbark, adjoining their Citronen project (Figures 2 and 3).

    Next Steps

    The Company has commenced a process of obtaining all historical information relevant to the licence area, including information publicly disclosed, to gain a better understanding of the licence potential and to aid maiden exploration. Discussions have already commenced with third parties with a view to joint venture and earn-in into the newly acquired exploration licences.


    Mexican Silver Projects

    Following the successful earn-in transaction with Capstone Mining announced on the 21st October 2020 regarding the Company's Donovan 2 copper-gold project, the Company is working with its North American advisor IBK Capital regarding a similar marketing process for the high-grade San Celso and Los Campos silver projects in Mexico. IBK considers both projects offer an attractive entry into one of the world's premier silver belts and will soon commence marketing of the projects to a range of potential investors and project partners.


    The Company will continue its efforts in exploring and developing the projects and simultaneously consider third party funding options to develop and mining the projects minimising dilution to shareholders.

    Encouraging results of soil sampling at ELA 47/4422, surroundingElizabeth Hills Silver Project


    Alien Metals Ltd (LSE AIM:UFO) (Alien Metals or the Company), a minerals exploration and development company, is pleased to advise that it has received the results of the laboratory analysis for approximately 370 soil samples covering the eastern portion of ELA 47/4422, which surrounds the Company's Elizabeth Hill Silver Project (Figure 1). The soil samples were processed by ALS Global in Perth for low level standard suite analysis. The Company agreed to acquire the tenement ELA 47/4422 as announced on 1 October 2020 which as part of the deal included approximately 600 soil samples, 370 of which have been found to be within ELA 47/4422.


    The results are presented in Figures 2 to 7 below, showing the anomalous areas for nickel, copper, zinc, silver, palladium and platinum. Encouragingly the anomalies are coincident with structures and lineaments, which further supports the Company's strategy of follow-up with detailed geological mapping and additional sampling.


    Highlights:

    - ELA 47/4422 includes priority prospects surrounding the Company's Elizabeth Hill Silver Project, including: Sunchaser (Zn), Conquest: (Cu/Zn/Pb), Carver (precious metals), Munni Munni East(precious metals).

    - ELA 47/4422 was conditionally acquired in September 2020 and included the acquisition of approximately 600 soil samples of which 370 are within the permit area.

    - Samples have been processed by ALS Global in Perth and have returned anomalous results for nickel (Ni), platinum group elements (PGEs), copper (Cu), gold (Au) and silver (Ag).

    - Results and interpretation to be incorporated into a wider review of the project and upcoming mapping and soil sampling program planned for the license area.



    Chief Executive Officer, Bill Brodie Good said:

    "These initial soil sample results are very encouraging and at such an early stage to the new tenement acquisition, add some new targets already into the list. The anomalous trends appear consistent with mapped and interpreted structures and contacts, which further cements their veracity as genuine new targets.


    "More detailed review of this recent data will be undertaken in conjunction with the ongoing historic data review, which will lead to next stage exploration work to be planned; but as a start, we are really pleased with the results and looking at the recent major discoveries in the area, we feel there is considerable potential to identify a new mineral discovery and are keen to progress this project on several fronts."

    The soil sampling program was carried out by the previous operator of the project area as part of a regional early stage exploration program. These samples were taken as conventional -2mm soil samples collected on average at 15cm depth & sieved onsite on a standard east west grid covering 3 different tenements at the time all being part of the same Joint Venture. Alien understand that these were taken in 2019 as part of a larger program but as part of the recent acquisition of the tenement area these were provided to the Company. Alien believe the samples had been stored securely in a dry location and were still in uncontaminated condition at the time of analysis. As the samples were provided in batch a total of 596 were received with 371 lying within the confines of ELA 47/4422 as it is currently defined. Standard and duplicate samples were used in the original batch at just over an average of 5% which is an acceptable amount. Results of these also appear within acceptable limits of QA/QC for the purposes of this program.

    The main commodities assay for which reflect the mineralisation of the area returned ranges as per below with minimum to maximum values in ppb and ppm:


    Silver 5 - 118 ppb

    Palladium 0 - 13 ppb

    Platinum (PGE) 0 - 11 ppb

    Copper 6 - 295 ppm

    Nickel (Ni) 10 - 1,085 ppm

    Zinc 10 - 218 ppm


    The results delineate two clear new anomalous zones defined in the south western area associated with a structural feature with anomalous copper, PGE and Ni as well as anomalous feature around the Conquest prospect in the central western zone. Figure 8 below outlines the 2 new main areas defined.

    These early results are encouraging and add more prospects to the historically defined ones to develop in the near future.


    Next Steps

    The Company has commenced a process of obtaining all historical information relevant to the license area, including information publicly disclosed, to gain a better understanding of the license potential and to aid maiden exploration planning. Discussions have already commenced with third parties with a view to joint venture and earn-in into the newly acquired exploration licences.


    The Company remains well funded to carry out its exploration activities with GBP 2m (2.55m USD) in funds as of 31 Oct 2020.

    Capstone commences detailed IP Survey at Donovan 2 Copper-Gold Project


    Alien Metals Ltd (Alien Metals or the Company), a minerals exploration and development company, is pleased to announce that since its Earn-in Agreement ("Agreement") with Capstone Mining Corp (Capstone) (TSX: CS) over its Donovan 2 Copper-Gold project (the "Project") in Mexico (Transaction) Capstone have commissioned a detailed close spaced surface Induced Polarisation (IP) geophysical survey across the majority of the tenement to both add infill detail to the northern anomaly already defined by Alien and as an extension to historic geophysical work undertaken by Alien.

    The IP survey will be in the order of approximately 25.2 line-kilometers over 15 lines of variable length. The data acquisition is estimated to take around 25 days with follow up data interpretation a further couple of weeks. The IP survey is being carried out by Zonge International of Arizona, USA, who have extensive experience of working in Mexico.


    The work is due to commence imminently, with all necessary access rights for the target area provided.


    Drilling is then expected to follow once this work has been completed and fully interpreted.

    Final Assay Results and Maiden Drilling Programme Plans at Hamersley Iron Ore Projects



    Alien Metals Ltd (LSE AIM:UFO) ("Alien Metals", "Alien" or the "Company"), a minerals exploration and development company, is pleased to advise that the Company has received final laboratory analysis of assays and submitted drilling plans to the Mines Department for next stage exploration at the Company's Hamersley Iron Ore Projects. This follows the initial exploration update provided on 29 October 2020.


    Highlights:

    - Assays received for 95 rock-chip / grab samples from Hamersley Iron Ore

    o Highs of 66.95 % Fe from the Hancock project and 64.39 % Fe from the Brockman project with consistent DSO grades where expected (with the full assay results set out in the Annexure at the end of this announcement)

    o Assay results confirm high-grade results from preliminary handheld XRF results

    o High-grade sample locations extend previously mapped prospective areas which are outside of those incorporated into the Company's maiden Exploration Targets

    - Maiden Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling programme finalised for Hancock Ranges Project, which will consist of between 3,500-4,000m

    o Field work has confirmed drilling access areas

    o Program of Works ("POW") for drilling submitted, with drilling to commence in Q1 2021

    o Drilling to test the high-priority Kalgan prospect in the Hancock Ranges tenement, which has been mapped over a strike length of over 3km.

    "The laboratory assays have confirmed high-grade iron ore results of up to 66% Fe. These are excellent results and confirm the findings from XRF readings taken in late October. Our technical team has scoped out drilling access at the Hancock Ranges Project and in particular the Kalgan prospect. Additionally, the team has taken additional samples from Kalgan to in-fill areas covered from the October programme.


    The Company has identified the highest priority target now and is finalising the first targets maiden drilling programme, which will consist of between 3,500-4,000m of RC drilling on the Kalgan prospect target in the Hancock Ranges tenement. With the POW submitted, we hope to be on the ground as soon as possible.     Elizabeth Hill Project

    - Program of Works ("POW") has been approved by the Western Australia Mines Department for initial trenching and drilling at the Elizabeth Hills Mining Licence

    o The POW covers up to 1.25 kilometre of trenching programs and 4,000m of drilling (RC and diamond drilling)

    "The granting of the program of works is a key requirement to undertaking ground disturbing activities at Elizabeth Hill. Now the approvals are in place, the technical team is finalising plans to shortly commence a long awaited field exploration program at Elizabeth Hill which will initially focus on the trenching program to explore for a repeat silver orebody due-south of the historic mine, grid sampling of the old tailings which are understood to still contain significant silver, opening up the main shaft to assess the current water levels and get some samples to be able to request permission to pump out the water safely. We are looking to mobilise the team on site pre-Christmas, with work to recommence at the start of 2021.


    Elizabeth Hill holds enormous potential for the Company, both in the old mine and its bonanza grades and the unique nuggets associated with the deposit, as well as the numerous untested nearby targets associated with a significant geological intrusion already proven to host at least two significant mineral deposits.

    Alien Metals Ltd (Alien Metals or the Company), a minerals exploration and development company, is pleased to announce that since executing the earn-in agreement (Agreement) with Capstone Mining Corp (Capstone) (TSX: CS) over its Donovan 2 Copper-Gold project (the Project) in Mexico (Transaction), Capstone have completed their initial 2020 obligation of exploration expenditures and will advance to the next phase of the Agreement.


    Pursuant to the terms of the Agreement, Capstone can acquire a 65% interest in Donovan 2 through committed expenditure and cash payments totalling ~US$3.9million. Capstone can move to an 80% interest in the Project through free-carrying Alien to completion of a prefeasibility study.


    The core of the work carried out by Capstone in late-2020 was to complete a detailed close spaced surface Induced Polarisation (IP) geophysical survey across the majority of the tenement, as announced by Alien Metals on 13 November 2020, to both add infill detail to the northern anomaly already defined by Alien and as an extension to historic geophysical work undertaken by Alien. This work was successfully completed in December 2020 with the final reporting and interpretation currently being completed.


    Capstone have indicated that they have planned an initial 2,500m drilling program as part of their required $450,000 USD expenditure commitment for 2021. Drill locations will be finalised following interpretation of the IP report, with provisional planning well underway.

    Capstone have been managing the main elements of the program while Alien provide the necessary early stage on the ground support. We are looking forward to some positive results from this work.


    Alien has managed to get the previous drilling permit granted on Donovan 2 at the end of 2020, and with Capstone now ready to move into the next phase of the earn-in agreement, drilling can finally start to fully test what we see as an exciting copper-gold VMS system. Given the location of Donavan 2, near to existing infrastructure and operating mines, if Capstone are successful in identifying a commercial deposit it is well placed for rapid advancement."

    The IP survey was completed for 27.3 line kilometres and the data capture took 24 days. The IP survey was carried out by Zonge International of Arizona, USA, who have extensive experience of working in Mexico. The work was completed in late December 2020 with no reportable safety or environmental incidents and Capstone as agreed kept Alien updated on every step of the work with the Alien team offering support as required.


    An initial review of the provisional data generated by this IP survey appear to confirm and extend upon the anomalies that Alien had identified in the north and east-central areas of Donovan 2. Additional new features are also observed along the western and southern limits of the license. The original drill plan designed by Alien may be subject to change upon Capstone's review of the finalised geophysical data.

    The Project not only covers the original Mining Licence M47/342 which hosts the Elizabeth Hill Silver Mine and associated prospects, but also exploration permit ELA47/4422, which the Company has conditionally acquired and will be referred to as the Munni Munni North tenement going forward, a name used for part of this area in the past.

    Alien have engaged Southern Geoscience Consultants (SGC) of Perth, WA, to provide and manage the acquisition, processing and interpretation of airborne magnetic, radiometric and digital elevation data over the Elizabeth Hill Project. From a detailed review of existing available data it was decided to only fly the eastern section of the project area as the western area was recently flown at the same line spacing and line direction with that data available to purchase at less than the cost of re-flying it. SGC have confirmed that they can integrate both data sets into one larger unit that they can then interpret as a single area.

    Thomson Airborne Pty Ltd of New South Wales are carrying out the acquisition work and are due to commence today using a Cessna 210 fixed wing aircraft. They will be flying @ 1,534 line kms to cover the survey area at 50m spaced east west lines with north south 'tie' lines.

    The details of the survey equipment are:


    Airborne Magnetic Sensors

    • Cesium vapour magnetometer

    • 20 Hz (0.05 sec) sampling rate

    • Resolution of 0.001 nT

    • Vector magnetometer (XYZ Components)


    Gamma Ray Spectrometer

    • RSI model RS-500 spectrometer

    • 2 x 16.8 litre detector packs (33.6 litres total volume)

    • 2 Hz (0.5 sec) sampling rate in 256 channels


    Altimeters

    • KRA405B radar altimeter (measuring the height above the terrain)

    • 0.3 m resolution

    • 3' or ± 3% accuracy (whichever is greater) at 0 to 500' and ± 5% at 500' to 2500'

    • Range: 0-760 m

    • 20 Hz (0.05 sec) sampling rate


    Navigation and Data Positioning System

    • Novatel 14 channel precision differential capable GPS system

    • 2 Hz (0.5 sec) recording rate

    • GPS differential correction receiver

    • Thomson survey navigation and guidance system


    Data Acquisition System

    • GeOZ-DAS Digital Data Acquisition System


    Once this data has been collected and verified SGC will integrate it with the existing high quality data for the western area that is already flown and then complete a geological and structural interpretation based on 1:25,000 scale.


    Processing of the new data would entail survey planning and contractor communication, gridding and levelling (if required) of the magnetic, radiometric and digital terrain data and grid filtering, image processing and enhancement (TMI, TMI1VD, Analytic Signal, RTP, RTP1VD, RTP2VD, RTPTilt, ASVI, DEM, TC, K, U, Th) using a relevant sun angle of this data. Along with this work SGC will also re-process and merge the existing multi-client survey dataset to make one large dataset for interpretation.


    A comprehensive interpretation of the aeromagnetic data would integrate all relevant geoscientific information, allowing for the mapping of lithologies and structure. The regional aeromagnetic data would be referred to, if required, to assist in understanding any broader scale features beyond the tenement area.


    As indicated above, the airborne data capture is underway and based on a successful and timely completion, the Company plans to have the final results and interpretations mid to late February 2021 to be able to start planning the follow up field work going into the optimal field season in the region.

    Background


    The two projects are within the Hamersley Province of Western Australia, known as one of the premier iron ore producing regions of the world. The Brockman Project (E47/3953) is located in the west Hamersley Province, 100 kilometres ("km") northwest of the Rio Tinto iron ore mining town of Tom Price, and 90km west of the Tom Price to Dampier mine railway. The Hancock Ranges Project (E47/3954) is located in the east Hamersley Province, 15km north of the BHP iron ore mining town of Newman, and 20km west of the Newman to Port Hedland mine railway.


    As announced 25 August 2020, five priority prospects were identified with next stage exploration plans proposed. For the Brockman Project, three targets focus on the historic high-grade BHP prospects numbers 15, 19 and 20. Two key targets in the Hancock Ranges Project are the Sirius Extension prospect, that has previously been drilled by Volta Mining (refer announcement dated 20 September 2019 for further information), and the Kalgan Prospect in the north-west of the tenement, that the Company believes has excellent potential.


    More recent field work also identified a series of roughly east west striking high grade Iron ore ridges newly defined by Alien and highly prospective for additional Iron Ore mineralisation.




    Drill Program


    This maiden drilling program on the Hancock Ranges project is to test four main targets now defined from historic and recent work, namely two high grade east west ridges of outcropping high grade iron ore in the central and north central parts of the tenement recently identified by Alien in field mapping and sampling and the historically defined Kalgan and Sirius Extension prospects.


    Three Rivers Drilling Ltd of WA will provide a Schramm track mounted T450 Reverse Circulation (RC) drill machine, rated to 350m depth, with 6.0m pullback and an on-board 900cfm/350psi Compressor. They will support the drill rig with an 8x8 Support Truck with water and diesel storage, a 4 x 4 Mine Specification Support vehicle, RC equipment to carry out drilling to a depth of 80 metres, a drilling team for the rig comprising 1 Senior Driller, drilling offsiders along with 1 Drill Fitter assigned to the project as required for seven days per week operations.

    The drill rig has an industry standard cyclone and sample splitter which means each sample can be correctly and within international standards and procedures. It also complied with the rigorous HSE standards of Australia to maintain the necessary international standards followed by Alien. At this stage Alien plan to sample every meter drilled and once tested on-site with a handheld XRF unit to get an initial indication of iron content along with visual inspection and logging of each sample to then dictate how many samples are submitted to the laboratory for analysis.


    For QA/QC purposes Alien will use the industry standard of inserting 5% Certified Reference Material (CRM) samples, 5% Certified Blank Samples (Blanks) and 5% duplicate samples at source. The CRMs will be sourced from Geostats Pty Ltd, Perth, WA, a global leader in the manufacture and sale of CRMs and Blanks.


    The planned holes are spread across four initial areas to enable the company to continue to develop our knowledge of the project as a whole and to further prioritise for next stage drilling.


    The BIF units within the tenement are found associated with the sedimentary sequences within the Welli Wooli Formation. The BIF units mostly present as prominent ridges which largely follow the WNW grain of the country except where there has been local disruption. A notable example being the central portion of the tenement. Because of the folding these is a repetition of the beds and there appears to be good continuity at least in terms of grade along the strike of some of the individual BIF beds.


    The BIF's were traced along strike between the mapped traverses using imagery and for convenience they have been given labels A-F. Two of these ridges represent two of the targets for this maiden drilling. The Kalgan Prospect is located atop the crest of an anticline and has no ridge development due to the flat lying presentation of the beds and is the third drill target. The Sirius Extension Prospect is the fourth drill target for this program.

    All samples generated will be despatched to Intertek Genalysis at Maddington, WA, and analysed for their Basic Iron Ore Package Analysis with XRF finish, which includes elements Fe, Al, Ca, K, Mg, Mn, Na, P, S and Si. This is the same as the analysis and laboratory used in all Alien's analysis work on these projects to maintain consistency and comparability between all analyses.


    Maiden drilling on the Brockman tenement is still in development stage with a follow up field mapping and sampling program planned prior to finalising a drilling program, along with getting the necessary permission to drill within the tenement all which is ongoing.

    San Celso and Los Campos Silver Projects

    Elizabeth Hill Silver Project


    • Airborne Magnetic Survey has been completed and data captured in the eastern area and combined with the western areas, the whole of which is currently being processed and analysed by Southern Geoscience.
    • The JORC compliant Mineral Resource at Elizabeth Hill Mine was completed by Iana Ltd in 1999 for 46,800 tons at 2,450g/t silver (86 Oz/t) for 4.05m Oz contained silver.
    • As announced on 14th December 2020, planning is underway to re-enter the historic Elizabeth Hill underground mine which was mined between 1998 and 2000 via underground mining, primarily between the 62 metre (m) and 102 m levels. Silver production totalled approximately 16,800 tonnes of ore grading 2,195 g/t Ag (70.24 Oz/t Ag) generating 1,170,000 ounces, including some very large specimens of native silver (Karratha Metal Group Prospectus, 29 June, 2018).
    • Direct underground drilling on the target zones will prove more effective than surface drilling of this target, given there are already workings to provide access, to facilitate defining the remaining resource and the potential untested new mineralisation.
    • An initial trenching program to commence as soon as possible with the aim of identifying at surface native silver and new silver targets

    The Nueva Andromeda permit lies contiguous to San Celso to the south east containing the extension of the mineralised Nueva Andromeda vein that has already been identified in the San Celso permit. Indications of historic mining all along this vein exist and so the coming field mapping and sampling is planned to better understand the potential of this extension.


    With the Southern Geoscience interpretation work expected in the next few weeks over the larger area the Company will then be able to plan specific next stage exploration on new and existing targets, including potentially surface close spaced geophysical surveys, further trenching, mapping and even initial drilling if warranted.

    Alien Metals Ltd (LSE AIM:UFO), a minerals exploration and development company, is pleased to announce that the first drill hole of the maiden drilling program at the Donovan 2 copper gold project in Mexico started on Thursday, 25 February 2021, funded and managed by Capstone Mining Corp (Capstone) as per the Earn-in Agreement signed last year.


    Highlights


    · Alien have been advised by Capstone that the first exploration drill hole was started on Thursday, 25 February 2021, ahead of schedule, at the Donovan 2 copper gold project in Mexico.

    · The initial hole DON21-001 is to target previous Alien sampling work undertaken in an old water well which returned up to 3.3% Copper coincident with an IP geophysical anomaly

    Pursuant to the terms of the Earn-in Agreement, Capstone can acquire a 65% interest in Donovan 2 through committed expenditure and cash payments totalling ~US$3.9million. Capstone can move to an 80% interest in the Project through free-carrying Alien to completion of a prefeasibility study.


    The core of the work carried out by Capstone in late-2020 was to complete a detailed close spaced surface induced Polarisation (IP) geophysical survey across the majority of the tenement, as announced by Alien on 13 November 2020, to both add infill detail to the northern anomaly already defined by Alien and as an extension to historic geophysical work undertaken by the Company. This work was successfully completed in December 2020, with the final reporting and interpretation now being completed leading to the start of this maiden drilling program.


    Capstone have indicated that they have planned an initial 2,500m drilling program as part of their required $450,000 USD expenditure commitment for 2021.


    Drilling will initially test the Los Alomos target in the water well area, located in the northeast central area of the tenement and then move to the Cerro de la Cruz target located in the northwest area of the tenement.


    Drill planning was supported by the recent report submitted to Capstone following the Ground IP survey carried out at the end of 2020, by Condor Consulting, Inc., Lakewood, Colorado, USA, and historical exploration carried out by Alien.


    Figure 2 below shows provisional hole locations over a chargeability map at 150m below surface generated from the recent IP survey carried out by Capstone. Capstone has advised that these holes are ready to be drilled with an amended drilling permit already in place.


    Capstone has provisionally planned 2,500m for this maiden program using Ecodrill drill contractors with a Hydracore trailer mounted diamond core drill rig capable of 350m HQ size depth of drilling.

    The Company has entered into a 60 day exclusivity arrangement with the owner of the tailings on site within the Elizabeth Hill Mining Licence, using this period to carry out further assessment of the tailings in situ and potentially negotiate an acquisition by Alien of the rights and title to the Elizabeth Hill tailings project, if terms can be agreed between the parties.


    Elizabeth Hill Silver tailings projects


    · Alien has signed an exclusivity agreement with Wombat Resources Pty Ltd, the owner of the historic tailings on site within the Elizabeth Hill Mining Licence

Knowing that the Elizabeth Hill silver mine's historic operations were somewhat inefficient and being very high-grade with abundant native silver we felt that, despite previous reprocessing activities, there is likely significant value remaining in the silver tailings.


    "Following discussions with the silver tailings owner, a first-pass sampling program was undertaken in December 2020 to test the properties of the tailings. ALS laboratories in Perth carried out an Aqua Regia ICP-AES assay on 84 auger samples from 21 locations, which returned consistently high values of silver and associated minerals. Over the coming months, the Company will undertake further sample work and analysis to better understand the most efficient and cost-effective processes to extract the silver from the tailings. We believe that the silver tailings project could generate near-term cashflow which could help underpin a range of exploration activities at Elizabeth Hill and the Munni Munni North project."

    History of the tailings


    Located within the Company's mining lease ML47/342 there remains the partly retreated tailings from the original silver mine operations at Elizabeth Hill. This is currently subleased from Alien by Wombat Resources Pty Ltd (Wombat) (see below).


    Alien's preliminary assessment indicates that there remains about 16,000 tons of tailings on site, based on tonnage of ore extracted from the mine however further work will be undertaken during the exclusivity period to confirm available tailings for reprocessing.


    Historic reports refer to grades above 1,000 g/t (33oz/t) silver in the original tailings due to inefficient processing practices of the ore during historic mining, Ref Independent Technical Assessment Report on the Elizabeth Hill Project, Agricola Mining Consultants, June 2018.


    Historically some reprocessing of the silver tailings was undertaken, however limited information exists on processing recoverability.





    2021 Sampling Results


    A brief program of hand auguring of the existing tailings was carried out at the end of December 2020 by the Alien geological team in order to get an initial understanding of the grade of the remaining material in the dump as review of historical reports does not give any clear outline of this.

    A hand auger was used and at each sample site 4 samples were taken at different depths (see table 1). The holes were stopped when they reached the base of the tailings on the liner. The average sample depth from surface was 1.5m with the deepest samples going to 1.87m and the shallowest to 1.19m. The samples were not geologically logged as it was felt unnecessary as the material is essentially homogenous crushed ore material from the mine so uniform in nature.


    The samples were sent to ALS Perth and analysed for a main suite of 35 elements by Aqua Regia ICP-AES with follow up analysis of any initial high grade silver assays by code Ag-OG46 by Aqua Regia which totalled 78 out of the 84 samples submitted.


    ALS as part of their standard analysis performed their standard in-house QA/QC which appears acceptable in relation to this sample batch.


    The results show that there remains significant silver in the tailings, even if they were reprocessed from the original mine processing days, as well as some acceptable credits for copper, nickel and zinc. The sample results included a high of 1,270 g/t Ag (38 Oz/t) and a low of 60.6 g/t Ag (which at just under 2 Oz/t silver is still a significant grade). Only 6 samples from the 84 analysed returned below 100 g/t Ag which is also significant.


    The results show good consistency downhole as well as from hole to hole and the pattern as seen in Figure 4 of the higher grades against the few low grades could be related to historical access to the tailings being cut into the southern area. Alien is planning to follow-up in more detail from this sampling to better understand the spread and concentration of the material.

The project area includes the Mining Lease containing the historic Elizabeth Hill Silver Mine and the Munni Munni North Exploration Lease that surrounds it. The work was carried out by Southern Geoscience Consultants of Perth, WA, a leading geophysical consulting company with extensive experience in this type of commission.

    Alien engaged Southern Geoscience Consultants (SGC) of Perth, WA, to provide and manage the acquisition, processing, and interpretation of airborne magnetic, radiometric, and digital elevation data over the Elizabeth Hill Project. From a detailed review of existing available data, it was decided to only fly the eastern section of the project area, as the western area was recently flown at the same line spacing and line direction with that data available to purchase for substantially less than the cost of re-flying. SGC integrated both data sets into a larger set that covers the entire target area. It should be noted that a slightly larger area than the ground held by Alien defined the area covered by this study to ensure the significant regional geological and structural units were included to aid in the final interpretation work.


    The tenements cover the northern part of the Munni Munni Complex, one of Australia's largest and most prospective layered Archaean mafic to ultramafic Intrusion. The project covers about 60% of the ultramafic rocks, including the Cadgerina Dyke to the west, which is interpreted to be a possible feeder zone of the Munni Munni intrusion.


    The Munni Munni Complex (MMC) shows many similarities with other layered mafic-ultramafic intrusions found elsewhere, including the Bushveld Complex in South Africa, the Stillwater Complex in Montana, USA and particularly, the Great Dyke of Zimbabwe, which all host world class deposits of Platinum Group Elements (PGE) mineralisation.


    The MMC hosts one of the most significant PGE deposits located to date in Australia and also the extremely high-grade Elizabeth Hill silver deposit.


    At Munni Munni, the most promising PGE horizon discovered to date, the Ferguson Reef, lies just below the contact between the ultramafic and mafic, mainly gabbroic, rock types. This porphyritic reef outcrops over a strike length of approximately 8 km of which about 2.5 km lies within the Company's ground while a further 1 km length of reef is outcropping near the Cadgerina Dyke also within the Company's ground holding. A limited amount of historical exploration has been done on some of these outcrops and targets to date and updating and infilling such work will be part of the work program being developed now by Alien.


    Another PGE-enriched horizon, Judy's Reef or the J-reef, is located along the northern and north eastern margins of the intrusion approximately 30m above the base of the Complex just east south east of the Elizabeth Hill Mine itself trending towards the Natalie Hill prospect. This is within the Elizabeth Hill Mining Lease and this important target will be the focus of some initial infill and updated exploration work in the coming phase of work as well.


    The major structural feature within the project area is the NNE trending Munni Munni Fault which offsets the Ferguson Reef in the south and the northern margin of the Complex by about 600 metres. The Elizabeth Hill silver deposit was formed at the intersection of the fault at the base of the MMC in a local dilation zone caused by shearing along the ultramafic/granite contact.


    In summary SGC defined the area as highly prospective for PGE, Ag, Ni and Cu and potentially Li mineralisation in addition to the known Elizabeth Hill Silver and Munni Munni PGE (formerly Hunters zone) deposits.


    About the geophysical survey review

    The whole project area is covered by two 50 m line-spaced surveys: one newly commissioned and one existing multi-client survey, with good quality aeromagnetic and radiometric data, acquired at 35-50m ground clearance.


    The interpretation was based primarily on a new merge by SGC of these airborne datasets and available geological information from historical exploration. The interpretation was primarily focussed on defining lithological contacts, prominent faults and identification of structurally complex areas within and around Munni Munni and Maitland intrusive complexes. Detailed interpretation of ultramafic/gabbroic zone contacts as well as magnetically anomalous mafic/ultramafic layers within the Munni Munni intrusive complex was also carried out.


    Zones of intense deformation and breaks along the borders and within intrusive complexes were identified and used in the targeting process. The geological setting and geophysical signatures of the Elizabeth Hill silver deposit were assessed and used for the targeting as well. The highest priority was given to targets with structural context similar to the known Ag and PGE mineralisation within the target area. These include target areas associated with the Munni Munni fault around the northern margin of the MMC in the vicinity of the Elizabeth Hill Mine as well as focus areas along the PGE Hunters/Ferguson zone/reef which hosts the Munni Munni PGE deposit.


    A total of 20 targets have been identified by SGC in the Elizabeth Hill project area. Seven are considered high priority for PGE and Ag/Ni/Cu mineralisation, with a further 7 as lower priority targets and a further 6 as lower priority but still priority targets all warranting follow up exploration. It should be noted that these are the priority targets and that there are more areas of interest still to be tested but currently lower in the ranking.

    Table 1 summarises all targets identified by SGC with their relative priority and commodity target demonstrating the diverse and numerous targets that are present on the project.


    The targets generated include some existing prospects from historic exploration such as Hunters Reef East and West, Natalie Hill and Conquest. Significantly there are also several new targets such as targets 4, 5 and 13 (no names yet applied to them), the Cadgerina Dyke, which presents a very interesting target in its own right should it be the original feeder for the MMC.

    The interpretation has delineated extensive lithological contacts, prominent faults and structurally complex areas. In particular, detailed mapping of ultramafic/gabbroic zone contacts within the MMC as well as magnetically anomalous mafic/ultramafic layers within it will be required to advance the potential of some of these targets.


    The project area comprises a diverse and multi commodity array of targets associated with a significant geological feature that has already produced 2 significant orebodies. Alien is excited by the full potential of the area for other styles of mineralization (base metals, gold, lithium etc.)

    The faulted (and presumably sheared) contacts between ultramafic and granitoid rocks along the northern margin of the MMC were identified as the most prospective zone, as well as structurally interesting areas along the Hunters/Ferguson reef which is known already to host PGE mineralisation. Several targets are also proposed along the western border of the Maitland intrusive complex and along the Cadgerina dyke, which has been interpreted in the past and from this work to be the potential source of the MMC which could be a significant target for mineralisation.

    Alien Metals Ltd (LSE AIM:UFO), a minerals exploration and development company, is pleased to advise that the Company has received initial results from the maiden drilling program on its Hancock Iron Ore project, which is part of the Hamersley Iron Ore Project, Western Australia.



    Highlights:

    The two projects are located within the Hamersley Province of Western Australia, known as one of the premier iron ore producing regions of the world. The Brockman Project (E47/3953) is located in the west Hamersley Province, 100km northwest of the Rio Tinto iron ore mining town of Tom Price, and 90km west of the Tom Price to Dampier mine railway. The Hancock Ranges Project (E47/3954) is located in the east Hamersley Province, 15km north of the BHP iron ore mining town of Newman, and 20km west of the Newman to Port Hedland mine railway. Alien acquired a 51% in the Hamersley Iron Ore project in March 2020.





    Drill Program

    The maiden drilling program at the Hancock Ranges project was aimed to test four main targets which had been defined from historic and recent work. These were two high grade east-west ridges of outcropping high grade iron ore in the central and north central parts of the tenement recently identified by Alien, and the historically defined Kalgan and Sirius Extension prospects.



    The planned holes targeted three initial prospects to enable the Company to continue developing its knowledge of the project as a whole and to further prioritise for next stage drilling. A fourth area was identified in the southern central area and 2 holes were drilled to initially test this at the end of this program as per Figure 2 below.

    The initial results are from samples taken in 17 of the early holes with results from 36 holes still awaited. t. To date, a maximum intersection of 1m at 65.88% Fe from hole AM21RC001 006 has been reported within a significant intersection of 26m @ 54.3 % Fe from surface, including 13m @ 61.5 % Fe from 2m depth. Other results around this hole returned lower grades which indicate that 2 beds were drilled one below the other, one being the DSO grade unit and the second being lower but still iron ore bearing. This is significant for future targeting and development as the Company identifies the DSO grade beds as priority. Holes AM21RC001 012 and AM21RC001 016 are from the Kalgan Prospect which still requires further results to fully understand while hole AM21RC001 027 is from the E ridge area which has proved a significant interception and further potential to follow up.


    Significantly, the majority of assays awaited are from holes which have had significant BIF intercepts, up to 55m widths and are expected to add significant potential to the project potential.

    From review of the geological logs from the program the Company is very encouraged by some of the significant thicknesses of the BIF beds intercepted. As an example, hole 027 intercepted 66m of BIF from surface and with the east-west trend of these very shallow dipping beds, this could represent a significant quantity of BIF. Figure 5 shows a schematic of the significant unit that defines 'ridge E', which is outcropping at surface. The holes completed at the Sirius Extension included BIF intersections of up to 46m, hole AM21RC001 035 on ridge E intercepted 47m of BIF while hole AM21RC001 024 also on ridge E intersected 44m of BIF so significant intersections have been made and associated results are keenly awaited.

    Figure 6 shows an initial interpretation of the extent of the remaining potential the Company now feels is present and which will be factored into all future exploration planning and targeting.

    As part of the next phase of work, the Company is planning for surface traverses and sampling of as yet untested part of the tenement as well as planning a next stage drilling program as it now has greater access to these new areas.


    The Board of Alien continues to assess a range of mineral projects and opportunities, with particular focus on exploration projects with near term news flow and value creation.
